A typical incident process will include a Preliminary Incident Report, an Incident Investigation, and Corrective Action(s). The two processes important to the Status Aggregator Enhancement are the Incident Investigation and Corrective Action.
From an Incident Investigation, one or more Corrective Action forms are completed to address the incident and hopefully prevent it's recurrence. In some cases, the Incident Investigation workflow dictates that an Incident Report should not be Closed until the Corrective Action(s) have been implemented. With the Status Aggregator Enhancement, you don't have to monitor the status levels of Corrective Actions related to the Incident, when all Corrective Actions that reference an Incident Report are implemented, the status level of Incident Investigation will automatically be updated to Closed. To automate this further, a status level immediate action trigger can be configured at the Closed status level to notify Incident Investigation participants with the updated information.
In the example Incident Investigation below, we have the incident investigation going for approval and then awaiting Correct Action closure prior to being closed.
With this workflow, the Incident Investigation should not be marked as closed until all Corrective Actions are closed.
In this example, the Incident Investigation has two Corrective Actions associated it to. With the Status Aggregator Enhancement, the Incident Investigation will stay in the status Awaiting Corrective Action Closure until the Corrective Action forms are marked as completed in their work flow.
With Status Aggregator, when the Corrective Actions have been closed for the Incident, the Investigation is automatically updated to the Closed.
While this use case mentions only the Incident Investigation, the Status Aggregator Enhancement could be used for any process that involves a Corrective Action in its work flow. Examples could be Hazard Identification processes, Non Conformance process, Inspection processes etc.
